Hi all. I'm trying to remain calm while my laptop screen is dead and in need of repair. Thankfully we purchased the extended warranty and they are sending me a fedex box to ship it out in today, but this means I will be without my electronic baby over the long weekend!!! I have so much that I wanted to do! Honestly we all know that I would have only gotten about 1/3 of what I planned done, but that's still more than 0/3!!!!!! Anyway, I'm going to focus on this wonderful holiday, which is my second favorite. I love gathering with family and stuffing my face full of turkey and ham and all the fixin's and then just hanging out and having fun. None of the pressure that comes with Christmas, just the good parts ;-)
Time for another blast from the past. Check out my picks from this date in 2005. I did indeed make that album for my brother and it came out pretty well. Guess I should make him some updated pages for 2007, but since I DON'T HAVE MY LAPTOP that's not going to happen anytime soon. So in the meantime let's have some picks....
Kit of the Day
Debbie Knorr has done some really gorgeous work on her Antoinette Element Pack
and coordinating Paper Pack . I am just absolutely in love with the colors and the rich fabric textures. This is the kind of stuff I'd love to decorate my house with ;-) The tiny touch of bling in the butterfly and the flower element are just enough without being overwhelming. Too much bling would have ruined the earthiness of the kit. I'm also digging the two frames with the ribbons. Those will look really cool with her backgrounds. A wonderfully well rounded kit that will keep you very busy and very happy ;-)
One of the greatest blessings in each and every day for me is the feeling of my little girl in my arms. Most nights she falls asleep in my arms and it is literally my favorite time of the day. I know there are pediatricians and psychologists who will say that at 4 she should be falling asleep in her own bed alone with no help, but she and I get so much comfort and joy from those moments that my heart tells it is the right thing for our family. What does this have to do with the layout of the day? Mama's Arms by Melinda Staley got me thinking about the comfort that Gracie finds with me. I love the journaling so much and the overall softness of the layout perfectly compliments the sentiment. Normally we see birthday pages that reflect the frantic partying of the children, but very often this is the reality of a birthday party for the very young. They become overwhelmed and turn to the comfort of the safest place they know. Beautiful layout Melinda!
