Happy Halloween!!!!!
It's here, it's here!!!! My favorite holiday!!!! While it saddens me that I have to work, I did manage to dress up in a way. I'm all in black and I'm wearing a black vest decorated with all kinds of Halloween images (thanks mom!). I took a picture but I look huge, so I won't be posting that one, LOL.
Halloween 2007 Pick of the Day
Miki Ferkul (Microferk)'s Ancient Ways - Samhain just had to be the pick of the day for this very special day. Take a moment to read the description on the site, not just of the kit, but of the origins of this holiday. As a longtime student of ancient religions I am always warmed by the way that the beliefs of our long dead ancestors have worked their way into our modern lives. In Miki's description you can see the origins of some of our traditions and you can also see how the holiday came to be associated with the dead and the unseen. For me Halloween has always been about autumn, the changing of the year, the end of summer and candy ;-) Miki's kit is a beautiful tribute to all of the traditions of Samhain with its rich autumn colors and beautiful patterns. I love the full moon and the Indian corn. Very nice touches. To Miki and to everyone out there celebrating Halloween I wish you a very happy turning of the wheel ;-) For those of you not celebrating....go eat some candy and join in the fun!!!!
Some Halloween Art
It is a joy to partner on Altered Art Chicks with two very talented ladies. Many of you know Krista Mettler from her digital art, but I'd like to take a moment to introduce you to the artist behind our Mootsie line of products, Audrey Angrisani. Audrey is talented in so many mediums but I have to admit she blew me away this Halloween with her work in clay. As a member of the Society of Diverse Halloween Artists, this is a woman who takes her autumnal art seriously, with a not so serious twist. Enjoy now some of my favorite works in clay by this very talented and special lady.
Dr. Ivan is just laugh out loud cute. Check out the test tubes! I just love his crazy hair. The lab coat is an amazing work in clay. I just love this guy ;-)
You know you're in for trouble when these two show up at your door! As if they are not cool enough on their own check out their little trick-or-treat baskets!!! Amazing!!!
This little sweetie is in need of some of that Proactiv Solution stuff they sell on TV. It doesn't seem to be hurting his trick-or-treating, though. That bag looks pretty full! He's so cute you just have to give him some sweets.
Wasn't I right? Pretty cool stuff huh? She's working on Christmas now! Can't wait to see what she has up her sleeve next. Have a very Happy Halloween!!!!!!!
