Kit of the Day
Unless you live under a rock you probably already know that October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. There are going to be tons and tons of kits released this month to mark this occasion and to raise funds for research, support and prevention of this killer. The first such kit to catch my eye this weekend is a collaboration between the designers at The DigiChick and SweetShoppe Designs called A Common Bond. What I really like about this one is that the color palette goes a bit beyond the expected pink. There's lavender, burgundy and even some hints of green. I can definitely see myself scrapping all of the women in my life, young and old. There are also some seriously unique elements in this kit. It is a very energetic and fun collaboration and more than worth the $10.00 donation.
Layout of the Day
While I was surfing around this morning HappyRobyn's 41 Years totally jumped out and grabbed me, ate some of my eggs and then settled down, LOL. Seriously the colors are what grabbed me first and then I saw that what we had here was a "quirk". I love the rose in this layout. To me it says that although things wither and die, they do not lose their beauty. The juxtaposition of the vintage photos with this more modern artistic style really works. The sunburst effect of the papers conveys to me that this couple's love has illuminated the lives of their descendents. Can you tell that I really like this one? If not let me spell it out for you....I really like this layout ;-) Great job Robyn.

What a terrific surprise! Thank you so much for picking my layout. It was a fun one to make.

I loved the layout of the day. Very sad, but so beautiful and endearing.
