Kit of the Day
As summer moves in on us I am looking forward to that dreamy hazy rich quality that the summer colors begin to get around mid-July. The world starts to look a bit like an expressionist painting to my eyes and it makes me smile. Kay Miller's new set Colorfully Ever After hast that same dreamy, blended quality. These colors are so rich that they could be overwhelming, but thanks to the expert blending of this kit they all flow together beautifully. I really like the flower accents and I can see myself using them over and over with other kits and you all know how much I love multi-taskers!
Layout of the Day
Monochromatic layouts can be so powerful and timeless, especially when they feature a black and white or sepia photo. ChristinaS's Only a Child immediately caught my eye this morning. It is so delicate and beautiful...it would make a great vintage Coke ad ;-) Of course she starts with a beautiful photo and from there she combined elements from various designers to create a masterpiece. I love the way the photo is tilted almost as if it was washed in on the surf. Check out the date that looks like it was written in the sand! The faded blue edge of the layout is just enough color, but not too much and it doesn't interfere with the sandy colors, instead it harmonizes with them. Beautiful!

This is a stunning layout! another great choice, melissa!
