Digi Picks 3/30/06
Hey, check out my new banner. It needs some work, but I finally figured out how to do a custom banner here on typepad. Fun stuff. How do you like my new chickadee? Does she look familiar? I wonder where you may have seen her before. By the way, for those of you who have not had your third cup of coffee yet, that was a CLUE.
Kit of the Day
Lie Fhung is quickly becoming one of my favorite designers. She has a delicate hand that creates beautiful art. Her newest kit Springlets captures those earliest moments of spring as the trees begin to bud and the colors slowly seep back into our world. It's almost as if God gives us a short time to adjust our eyes in preparation for the glorious color that is about to unfold. The delicate flower bud elements in this kit are amazing and so varied. I am desperately in love with her stitched ribbons and her line of dark thread stitching. This kit is so gentle in its colors that you can use it to capture children, the elderly and every moment and person in between. Simply gorgeous.
Layout of the Day
Shout out to my buddy Jen for pointing out today's pick to me. Sheri
R. took a gorgeous photo of Shailyn last year and forgot about it!! Maybe it was just waiting for this moment to inspire an adorable layout. I am absolutely in love with the journaling in this layout. The use of the paper element and that great font (cranberry) makes this look so personal. I love how she "highlighted" the word "everything". Such great journaling. The other thing that is awesome about this layout is that Sheri took elements from a ton of different kits to create a truly unique look. I used to do that when I started, but now I'm lazy. I'll have to start doing that again. It looks great!!!!

I just love that layout!!

I love Fhung's kit! Gorgeous. Great pick! And I'm not sure how you had her name before the pp posted but I asked her once and she told me that her first name is Fhung, her last name is Lie. In her culture they put last names first to honor their ancestors. That's why you'll often see her credited as Lie Fhung. ; ) Hope that helps.
